Why Can't I Smell My Wax Melts?

You put a wax melt into your warmer, turn it on and wait...

But where's the fragrance?

There are several reasons why you may not be getting the scent you're expecting.

Your room may be too large

A fragrance that fills a small bedroom beautifully may feel much lighter in a large open-plan room.

Your warmer may not be getting hot enough

Different wax warmers produce different temperatures. If the wax isn't melting properly, fragrance release can be affected.

You've become used to the fragrance

This is called nose blindness. After smelling the same fragrance for a while, your brain can become less aware of it even though other people can still smell it.

Try leaving the room for a while and coming back.

The wax may have reached the end of its fragrance life

If the wax smells strongly when cold but no longer releases fragrance when warmed, it is probably time for a fresh melt.
